Love Her Boo Kutty |
Alright So we all do love Dogs , the most petted and beautiful companion ,they become a beautiful part of our family .They love Us to the Core. But Do you Still think you know everything about our canine companions? Hmmm Let's Think again!
Let me tell you some facts about dogs.
Your dog is as smarter as a 2-year-old toddler. Dont you think so.
There’s a reason your toddler and your pup get along so well as they speak the same language or let me put it this way, they Kind off understand the same number of words and gestures as we Speak to them . Babies as young as six months old can distinguish between friendly dogbarks and threatening ones. The canine IQ test Says that even the average dog has the mental abilities ofa 2-year-old child. That is Mind Blowing isnt it ?.
Dogs and cats both drink water the same way but Cats are neater . Suprised ?
This may be hard to believe considering their behaviour since dogs are such messy drinkers. My dog drinks from her bowl, there is no question, but water will end up on the floor. It looks like a sloppy, unorganized way to get a good drink of water, but just like cats, Both Dog as well as cats bend the tip of their tongue and raise liquid in a column up to their mouths. We know cats and dogs are quite different in terms of behavior and character.
Dogs must quickly move their tongues down into the water using momentum to bring the water upThs and into their mouths. Cats don't bend their tongues to drink like dogs. Cats use less momentum and a more gentle action .
This is why Cats tend be viewed as neater, dogs are messier, but dogs really have to accelerate their tongues to make good use of the way the fluid column works.
Your dog does have a sense of time — and misses you when you’re gone.
If you think your dog knows when it’s time for dinner or a walk, you’re right! Dogs pick up on our routines and habits, and they also sense how much time has passed. One study showed how dogs responded differently to their owners being gone for different lengths of time.
The one thing my dog Boo and caffy loves almost as much as her Dog treats and Dog food is when it’s time to go outside. She seems to get the exact time right every day. Sure, Both Caffy and Boo could be picking up on my actions that indicate I’m getting ready to take the doggies outside for a walk. However, sometimes she is asleep in another room and just as I’m getting ready to move she comes running to the door so she too can go out with me Dont you think so.
Many dog owners who return home from work to find their pet waiting by the door or watching from a window believe that dogs can tell time. Some would say this behavior is just an uncanny coincidence rather than proof that dogs have a perception of time. What do you think?
Your dog’s whiskers help him “see” in the dark.
Hmmm lets see ,but it’s not night-vision neither is it a super power, but those whiskers pick up on even small changes in air currents, providing your pup with information about the size, shape, and speed of things nearby. The primary function of whiskers is to aid a dog’s vision, and they are often referred to as tactile hair. The follicles at the base of these hairs are packed with nerves that send sensory messages to a dog's brain. ... Being able to feel vibrations in the air also helps dogs sense approaching dangers. — even at night.
Dogs only have sweat glands in their paws.
More specifically, they are found between their paw pads. That’s why you will often notice them wetting the bottom of their feet on a hot day, and it’s also why dogs rely on panting as a means of cooling down.Dogs only produce sweat on areas not covered with fur, such as the nose and pawpads, unlike humans who sweat almost everywhere. However, they do have sweat glands, called apocrine glands, associated with every hair follicle on their body.
Did you Know Dogs Blood Pressure can be Lowered Naturally.
You can lower your blood pressure just by petting your pup! Viola and your stress is also relieved when you Pet them since your happy hormones kick in.
Your one year-old pup is as physically mature as a 15-year-old human.
Of course, different breeds age a little differently. Large dogs age faster than small ones. You can get a more exact comparison for your dog using Using Dog age Calculator which you can google it .
Dogs can hear 4 times as far as humans.
Puppies may be born deaf, but they quickly surpass our hearing abilities. Dogs can also hear higher pitched sounds, Dogs have a great sense of hearing. In fact, it is their second best sense (next to their sense of smell). Not only can they hear sounds that are too quiet for people to hear, but they also can hear sounds that are either too high or too low in pitch for people to hear. A dog’s ability to hear varies based on a dog’s age and breed. Like people, dogs can start to lose their hearing as they become older and, in some cases, a dog may go completely deaf."
Your dog can smell your feelings.
Your pup can pick up on subtle changes in your scent, which can help him figure out how you are feeling — such as by smelling your perspiration when you become nervous or fearful. It’s also likely how dogs can detect certain diseases or know that a household member is pregnant.
Have you ever wondered why your dog kicks backwards.
When dogs kick backward after they go to the bathroom it’s not to cover it up, but to mark their territory, using the scent glands in their feet.
We hope this list of odd facts about dogs gave you a better appreciation of your best friend. They are truly incredible animals and companions.
